I Made A Fake Games Character Sheet! Will The Last One Leaving Please Power Cycle The System
Will The Last One Leaving Please Power Cycle The System-Character Sheets is not a game that I designed for You Cannot Play This TTRPG Jam which is exactly what it sounds like on the tin. A game jam for games that don't exist. The fun thing about this that this is a game that I could make. I have a sort of vision a rules minimal game that mostly resolves around expanding the character sheet and maybe adding in some D6. However that's not the point of the jam so I'm resisting. But there's a not zero chance that one day when I have more focus and time I might actually make a variation of the game.
I did however make a mostly real game called What Game Are We Playing? which was inspired heavily by another submission from You Cannot Play This TTRPG Jam (and in retrospect D20 On a Bus) which is just a game of pure chaos. Don't know what to play with your friends? Play everything, together at the same time. Can't agree what to play? No need just play different games, together! It's not the most harebrained idea I've ever had but I did giggle a lot while writing it. I did however limit myself to only an hour to work on it and then scaled it down to fit on 2 B6 pages because I like giving myself constraints and working within those constraints.
I need to get back into that habit or workflow because I am much more creative when I don't let myself think to broadly. Scope creep is my greatest enemy. You would think it would be lack of time or scheduling but no its scope creep. "Simple" ideas of mine grow legs and then they seem too big and overwhelming and I try to overcompensate for these new limbs the idea has grown and suddenly its been years and I've been looking at the same google keep note with little to no real progress on the project just more parts.
